Some adults have trouble coping effectively with excess fear, worry, panic or nervousness. These feelings often affect one's ability to function and manage daily activities. While it is normal to experience changes in mood during our lives, others deal with conditions of feeling stuck in a constantly sad or depressed state, or perhaps even experience a persistent loss of interest. These symptoms of anxiety and depression can profoundly affect daily life and our relationships. I have experience helping adults move beyond, or at least manage, these difficult situations.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances surrounding their family of origin, abuse, or other overwhelming events. Anxiousness, fear, and hopelessness are a few common emotions that can remain long after these traumatic events. But often these lingering emotions affect our ability to function day-to-day. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
The culture and environment that individuals encounter today can quickly reveal possible signs of social anxiety which affects our ability to effectively live in community, including family, work, or social settings. Often, methods of self-medication signal the initial steps that professional help is actually needed. I can provide reparative steps that make these situations manageable and eventually even enriching.
